Laura + Chase

A proposal, an engagement, and a wedding day — documented as one story.

Summerlin · Bellagio · Lotus House

I noticed Laura and Chase’s clarity almost immediately.

From the first conversation about the proposal, there was a steadiness in the way Chase spoke—direct, thoughtful, and certain about what he was planning. There was no hesitation in the decision itself, only care in how the moment would be held.

Photographing their story felt different from the beginning. There was an ease to it—a sense that they knew what they were choosing, and why.

The Proposal

As I photographed the proposal, what stood out was how steady Chase remained.

He took a brief pause before kneeling—long enough to gather himself—then stayed fully focused on Laura. There was excitement in the moment, but it was contained. Nothing spilled outward. He did not look around or rush ahead. He stayed with her.

Laura’s reaction came instantly. Before words, her body moved—her hand to her face, a step forward, emotion arriving without hesitation. The moment closed in on itself quickly, settling into closeness rather than display.

What stayed with me was how quickly everything felt resolved. There was joy, yes—but it carried weight. It felt less like a question being asked and more like something being affirmed.

The photographs from that moment still hold that feeling. They show excitement that does not need to announce itself, and a decision made with full presence.

The Engagement

Bellagio often brings a certain tension for couples.

Many worry about the crowds, about finding quiet, about how the space will feel once the camera comes out. Laura and Chase never did. They just knew we would find what we needed as we went.

As I photographed them, I noticed how little the environment seemed to matter. They stayed focused on one another—walking, talking, laughing easily—completely at ease being seen without performing for it.

Those images feel open to me. Even in a public place, they read as private moments, shaped more by trust than by setting.

The Wedding

The wedding day revealed the depth beneath that ease.

During preparation, Chase moved with a quiet intensity. I remember watching the way he handled each detail—adjusting his shirt, fastening his cufflinks, settling into his suit. There was a weight to those moments. He understood exactly what the day represented.

Throughout the rest of the day, Laura and Chase stayed remarkably connected. As I photographed, I kept noticing how often they checked in with one another—small glances, brief touches, shared pauses not needing explanation.

The celebration grew naturally from there. It never felt like a release or a shift in tone. It felt like an extension of the same presence that had shaped the earlier moments—just shared with more people.

Rather than trying to capture everything that happened, the photographs hold onto what mattered most: connection, clarity, and the feeling of choosing one another with full awareness.

Laura and Chase did not enter this commitment casually.

What stayed with me was their sense of assurance—the way experience and perspective shaped how they moved through each chapter of this season. They knew who they were, and they knew who they were choosing to walk forward with.

This story was photographed with that understanding in mind, honoring not just the events themselves, but the intention and trust that held them together from beginning to end.
